This Catholic cathedral is one of the most beautiful and important churches in Thailand. It was built by Father Paolo Salmon, a French missionary during the reign of King Rama V in 1890. It took 6 years to complete. It was officially opened on February 11, 1896, established for more than 100 years old, so it is one of the oldest cathedrals in Thailand. Located in Bangkonthi District, Samutsongkhram and away from Amphawa floating market around 9 km. Besides, in front of the cathedral is on the Maeklong riverside.

The cathedral follows the Roman or Latin rite and serves as the seat of the Bishop of the Ratchaburi Diocese.

The architecture of the church is French Gothic style, with its 50 meters high spire rising above the cross-shaped building. Inside, the arched doors and windows are decorated with the beautiful stained glasses from France. When the shines through the stained glasses, it gives the beautiful pictures.  The pictures in the glasses are a story of Mary, mother of Jesus, and many other saints. During the day, when the church door was closed, it will make the pictures of the glasses more beautiful. It is the old glasses so it is difficult to take care. They need to be cleaned and assembled one after the other. When you enter the church if you meet the speaker, you will listen to the church stories and especially the stories of the stained glasses details.

In additions, there is also a beautiful statue of Jesus Christ and other magnificent items, including stately alter, grand candlesticks, bishop's throne, and lamp cluster.
